Manchester United football chief John Murtough fluffed his presentation for Jude Bellingham when he was leaving Birmingham City, it has been revealed.
The Athletic reports United did have the opportunity to persuade the now-England international to sign for them but were – obviously – unsuccessful.
They presented to Bellingham how they envisioned his career panning out and his pathway into becoming a first-team regular.
However, the report goes on to state that some feel that Murtough 'could have made a more compelling case for first-team minutes', suggesting that the director of football seemed uncertain as to whether then manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would utilise Bellingham frequently.
United are thought to still be keen to sign the exciting Borussia Dortmund prospect, though it will cost them over £100million according to Bild – four times more than what the Old Trafford outfit would have paid in 2020.
