Luton Town boss Edwards praises 'unique support' after relegation: We're special club

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards paid tribute to his players and the fans on the final day of the season.

The minnows were relegated in their first and only season in the Premier League.

Despite going back down to the Championship, Edwards was hugely proud of all they achieved in the past year.

After a final day 4-2 loss to Fulham at home, Edwards told BBC's Match of the Day: "We're a special club, we've got unique support. We've had that all season long.

“Everyone that's traveled has shown their best. We've given our best this year and ultimately we've just come up short, I know that. If one game could almost tell a season's story, that would be today.

"We showed really good moments, created chances, didn't take them, conceded from a mistake and then punished with a brilliant finish, equalized and then conceded straight after. We got back in the game again at 3-2 and then conceded a quick counter-attack from a throw in that we got in their final third.

“Full of endeavor, some really good quality at times as well but a little bit too fragile."
