IN DETAIL: Lopetegui terms settled with West Ham; previous agreement revealed

Julen Lopetegui has settled on personal terms with West Ham United.

The former Wolves manager has verbally agreed a contract, but nothing is yet signed.

TMW says the agreement that the Spaniard will sign is a two-year deal worth 4 million euros plus bonuses, with the option for the third which will be triggered if West Ham finishes (in at least one of the two seasons) in seventh place, therefore in European places.

Any extension can start as early as the first season.

It wasn't a simple negotiation, but two weeks ago Lopetegui already had a general agreement. But then Milan arrived, who met with the coach and, in fact, convinced him to accept lower figures (3.2 million plus bonuses) with manager Zlatan Ibrahimovic having endorsed the former Real Madrid coach.

However, the deal then fell through after a fans' backlash.
