Former Liverpool youth David Amoo is keen to impress after signing a one-year deal with SPL club Patrick Thistle.
The 24-year-old striker claims he turned down offers in England so he could test himself against Scotland's biggest clubs.
He said: "I played in League 1 and League 2. They're very good leagues but I wanted to try something different."
"I had some options to stay in League 1 but I've played there before I want the chance to play against big teams like Aberdeen, Celtic and Hearts.
"I just want to pit my wits against them. They are the highest standard of this league so I am looking forward to that."
Since joining Liverpool's senior ranks in 2010, Amoo has spent time on loan with MK Dons, Hull City and Bury before signing with Preston North End in 2012. Stints at Tranmere Rovers and Carlisle United have ensued prior to his release from the latter at the end of last season.
