Falkirk boss John Hughes is hopeful of signing Sunderland midfielder Arnau Riera.

Hughes told BBC Sport: "We still have a bit of work to do and Sunderland have to agree to everything. It shows the standard of player we want here.

"He has a great pedigree and impressed us.

"He is a little bit behind in terms of fitness, but he has fantastic ability and is a really hard worker."
