Empoli coach Paolo Zanetti was full of pride after their 4-1 thumping of Juventus.

Empoli secured Serie A safety last week ahead of Monday's victory.

Zanetti said: "A historic evening, which we all wanted to experience. Putting this mentality and this desire into play is a source of pride, congratulations because everything was wonderful.

"42 points is a lot but we want to score more, we want to improve. Now let's enjoy this wonderful evening then move on to the next one. We want to score as many points as possible, our maximum and for this reason we don't set limits."

Of his own future, Zanetti added: "There's a lot of us talking and it's normal when results are achieved, we'll see at the end of the year."
