Australian keeper Ryan joins Spanish giants Valencia

Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan has joined La Liga club Valencia on a six-year deal.

Valencia announced the deal on their official website on Tuesday, with Ryan moving from Belgium's Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around €7million.

Ryan spent two years in Belgium, helping Brugge to the quarter finals of the UEFA Europa League, as well as playing a pivotal role in the club's Belgian Cup triumph last season.

The 23-year-old Socceroos star was named the Belgian league's goalkeeper of the year in each of the past two seasons.
