Arsenal chief Edu receives boost in pursuit of Sao Paulo striker Brenner

Arsenal chief Edu is eyeing Sao Paulo striker Brenner.

The Daily Star says the Gunners are reportedly interested in Sao Paulo striker Brenner and have been given another welcome bonus with news over his passport.

It is believed that Brenner owns an Italian passport, meaning that he will not require to obtain a work permit to move to the Premier League.

Arsenal secured the signature of Gabriel Martinelli in the exact same way - after discovering that he also had an Italian passport alongside his Brazilian one.

Transfer chief Edu is currently on the lookout for another striker for Arsenal as they look to bolster their struggling front line.

Brenner's contract in his homeland of Brazil runs out on 2022, but there is a £45million release clause in the deal.
