Zouma sale clears way for Kounde at Chelsea

Chelsea are intensifying their push for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde after selling Kurt Zouma to West Ham.

France centre-half Zouma has agreed a four-year contract after joining for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £25million.

The Sunday World says now all eyes will turn to Chelsea's pursuit of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, with their push to sign the 22-year-old on hold until they confirmed the exit of Zouma.

Chelsea are still trying to negotiate a fee with Sevilla for their French star Kounde, with their hopes of signing him for around £40million appearing to be forlorn as the Spanish club hold out for a bigger fee.

Yet the word from Chelsea insiders in recent days has been that if Zouma was sold to West Ham, it would trigger the arrival of Kounde, so expect this deal to be completed before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
