Tottenham are working hard to secure a deal for Cristian Romero from Atalanta.
They have long been linked with the Argentine defender, but a deal has yet to emerge.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are working to lower the €55 million fee that Atalanta are demanding in the transfer.
Despite putting a lot of their eggs in the Romero basket, Spurs have alternatives.
They would target Bologna's Takehiro Tomiyasu, Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic, or Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma if they cannot secure Romero.
