Cagliari coach Gianfranco Zola insists they're not yet down after defeat to Sampdoria.

Cagliari have just one point from the last six rounds and there are reports Chelsea legend Zola is on the verge of dismissal.

"I cannot be angry with the players today, as they did well and there are regrets as once again we are not getting the points we deserve. That's difficult to accept," Zola told Sky Sport Italia.

"In terms of the performance, the team did express itself well today. It's a shame to see a side that gives its all like us and emerges empty-handed.

"When the team has this vitality and this eagerness to do well, I am certain its real qualities will emerge."

Zola added: "We are all disappointed right now. My thoughts are all about helping this team and finding the solutions that allow us to get points."
