Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane insists Karim Benzema deserves to win the Ballon d'Or.

After winning the LaLiga and Champions League last season with Real, there is a momentum behind Benzema being awarded this year's Ballon d'Or.

Zidane says: "His season? He doesn't surprise me.

"It's just continuity. I knew he was capable of what he does. He was very good all the time at Real.

"The only thing there is that he is just exceptional! If Benzema will be my successor to the Ballon d'Or? It's not just me saying give it to him, it's the whole world! It's more than deserved."
