Ziyech admits 'Chelsea had a little party' after victory at Man City

Hakim Ziyech was delighted to be part of Chelsea's triumph at Manchester City.

Chelsea came from behind to win 2-1 at the Etihad stadium on Saturday. Ziyech was outstanding on the day, dominating the attacking stats as he made the most efforts - three - on goal from either team. He struck Chelsea's equaliser in the second-half.

The midfielder later admitted Chelsea's players were thrilled with the win. The match was a dress rehearsal for the looming Champions League final and victory was the second time in weeks that Chelsea had beaten City.

With a third-place finish now strengthened, Ziyech admits there was a celebration in the away dressing room for the result.

Afterwards, Ziyech told Be inSport via Voetbalzone: "I am very happy. We did have a small party in the dressing room, because we wanted third place and we have it now.

“Beforehand, there were all kinds of side issues: the same opponent as in the Champions League final, they could become champions. But we knew we had to play our own game. I am glad that we succeeded.

“Of course this gives confidence, but in three weeks it will be very different again.

“There will be many other matches first. Only as soon as the final comes close, we will focus on that again, but we have shown that we can beat everyone."

Ziyech, despite an inconsistent first season in England, has managed 36 appearances for Chelsea. He's scored six goals and produced four assists.

Chelsea are next up against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
