Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos broke a new record in victory at Real Sociedad.
Ramos became the highest scoring defender of all time in LaLiga Santander when he converted a penalty at the start of the second half.
He'd equalled Ronald Koeman's tally of 67 with his strike against Eibar last Sunday and now he's out on his own at the top of the standings with 68.
Fernando Hierro is officially the highest scoring defender of all time in LaLiga, but some of his 105 goals came from a midfield position.
Real coach Zinedine Zidane later said, "For me, he's the best defender in the world. There are many really good defenders, but what he's achieved for many years now is impressive. Knowing him as I do, because I've played with him, his personality means that he always strives for more and that's what he instils in the team and the club. That's a real bonus.
"He's in a lot of pain after the knock he took, but I think it's just a knock and nothing more serious. That's the good news."
