Manchester United have made a contract offer to Zinedine Zidane.
Jose Mourinho was shown the door by United yesterday after two-and-a-half years in charge.
And AS says Zidane was immediately tabled a contract proposal by United, where vice-chairman exec Ed Woodward has made him a priority target.
The former Real Madrid coach is yet to respond to the offer, though friends insist he is reluctant to return to management until next season.
A confidant stated: "Zizou is willing to accept the challenge, but would prefer to take the team in June and not right now."
Zidane would prefer France or Juventus as his next job, though recognises the likelihood of either post becoming available is remote.
