Zidane calm as Real Madrid go clear at top of LaLiga table

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane isn't getting carried away after going clear at the top of the LaLiga table.

Real Madrid now have a two-point lead over Barcelona after beating Espanyol on Sunday night.

"I'm not taking notice that we're winning LaLiga, this will be decided on the final day [of the season]," Zidane said after the game at the RCDE Stadium.

"Look how difficult it was to play against the bottom team.

"You never know in this league."

The match was decided by a fantastic piece of skill by Karim Benzema, who set up Casemiro for the winning goal with a backheel pass.

"I'm not surprised by anything Karim does," Zidane said.

"He's a player who invents things on the pitch and the control, the backheel and the pass were great.

"It could be one of the moments of the season."

This was Real Madrid's fifth win in a row since LaLiga Santander returned to action in June.

"I'm very happy with my players," Zidane said.

"Winning game after game isn't easy.

"I have to congratulate my players."
