Zenden dedicates Sunderland goal to poorly Dad

Bolo Zenden was delighted with his goal in Sunderland's victory over Bolton Wanderers.

The midfielder gave Sunderland the lead just before half time when he went one-on-one with Bolton's Jussi Jaaskelainen and kept his cool to finish from a narrow angle.

It was an emotional moment for the former Barcelona man, who told safc.com: "That goal is for my father, who is ill at the moment.

"I had the time to think about what I was doing, and Jussi is a very good keeper.

"He stayed in his box and I chose to take it round him on my right side, which I don't think he was expecting.

"There were one or two players sliding in so it wasn't an easy finish in the end - I had to make sure I got the shot inside the near post rather than going across goal."
