Olympique Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson was offered to Chelsea and Tottenham over the summer.
Sanson, who joined super agent Pini Zahavi's stable earlier this year, was prepared to leave OM and favoured a move to England.
L'Equipe says Zahavi used his good relationship with Chelsea and Spurs to open talks about a move for his client.
However, while the feedback was positive from both clubs, Sanson's lack of consistency worked against him.
As such, Sanson remains an OM player - though Zahavi will try again to find him a new club in January.
