West Ham United star Pablo Zabaleta is asking for patience from the fans.

The Hammers had started the season with so much hope, given their many impressive signings.

However, they managed to lose each of their first four Premier League games.

And now they are worried about a relegation battle if they cannot pick up their form.

Zabaleta said to Sport360: "We have a lot of new players, they've come in from different countries, different leagues and now we are adapting to a different style of play under Manuel.

"But he's a great man, a good manager and will try to find the best way to get the results."

"It seems like Manuel is trying to find the best team.

"It takes a bit of time. But the problem in the Premier League is that if you don't win games it's difficult because you don't have any easy games.

"It's similar to last season when we didn't start well and it was tough. But we don't want that.

"The 3-1 defeat away against Arsenal showed what is possible.

"We played well and deserved at least a point. We just missed so many chances.

"We've had some tough games — Liverpool and Arsenal away — but you have to win the home games. There's a long way to go and hopefully we can get it right. We need time."
