Young keeper Cisak impresses Aussie coaches

Young Tasmanian goalkeeper Alex Cisak is impressing coaches at national level. The Leicester City custodian is rated in the top few goalkeepers in his age group in the country and Australian goalkeeping coach Tony Franken believes the 18-year old has a bright future.

"I met him about 18 months ago after someone told me about him," Franken told the Mercury.

"He was one that sort of slipped under the radar and I went and saw him at Leicester City and was very impressed.

"We brought him into the under-20 camp [Young Socceroos] and Ron Corry was equally impressed, and so much so that he sees him as in the top two for the age group.

"Unfortunately, he got chicken pox prior to the under-20 World Youth Cup qualifying tournament in Saudi Arabia and had to go home, but he's still very much in the mix for the World Youth Cup Finals in Egypt in July next year.

"He's a Tasmanian boy who went for a soccer challenge in Adelaide and was identified and it's something for the goalkeepers here to aspire to."
