Young happy with Man Utd wing-back role

Manchester United attacker Ashley Young enjoyed his wing-back role in their draw with Inter Milan.

Young has enjoyed the challenge and hopes to continue progressing.

"It's been good to play in the different positions," he told ManUtd.com. "I started on the left [against Inter] and ended up on the right. I can play in both wing-back positions and if the manager calls on me to do something I've got every confidence in myself to go out there and play well."

Louis van Gaal said at his pre-match press conference that Young had done "very well" in the role against LA Galaxy and AS Roma and the man himself is determined to repay the faith shown in him by the boss.

"It's always nice to hear praise from the manager and when he puts that belief in you to go out there and perform you want to repay him, and that's exactly what I'm looking to do every time I pull on the United shirt," he added.
