Ashley Young is happy to leave captain's duties at Aston Villa to Stiliyan Petrov.
Young was last appointed skipper for the fourth round FA Cup clash with Brighton although he is content to let Petrov continue with the job and deputise on a strictly "need to" basis.
He told Villa's website: "It was a special feeling to be captain. It was an honour to lead the team out and it worked well because I scored and we won. I couldn't have asked for more.
"Stan is a great captain and a great leader. To be honest, we have 11 leaders because everyone talks to each other on the pitch and helps each other out.
"I think Stan's the right man to have the captain's armband. That's his role and I've leave it to him. I'll stick to my job - although I'm always happy to stand in when necessary."
