Yedlin leaves Seattle Sounders to officially join Tottenham

Tottenham have confirmed that DeAndre Yedlin has officially joined the club.

The 21-year old American full-back signed a four-year deal with Spurs in August this year but has now formally left MLS club Seattle Sounders to link up with his new team.

It has been suggested that Yedlin, who has played for the USA on 10 occasions, would remain with the Sounders for at least the first half of the 2015 MLS season to further his development but it has now been finalized that he will be added to Tottenham's squad in January.

Of the decision, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino told the club's official website: "DeAndre is a young player with great potential who has already achieved a lot in Major League Soccer.

"It is important for his development that he is given the time to adapt to his new surroundings both on and off the pitch and we believe that by coming to us in January it will give him the best opportunity to do so."
