Yann M'Vila has stated that he has been left 'heartbroken' after failing to secure a deadline day move to Sunderland.

Sunderland have been looking to sign M'Vila on a permanent basis this summer following the midfielder's fine season on loan last term and it looked like he would be joining the Black Cats from Rubin Kazan on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, the move did not come into fruition and M'Vila has gone on to take to social media website Instagram to express his disappointment.

M'Vila posted: "I called Sunderland but they are not picking up the phone why? [sic] My heart has broken. [crying emojis]"
