Grant Xhaka was in an emotional yet buoyant mood after Arsenal's win over FC Basel on Wednesday night.

The Swiss midfielder played a key role in helping the Gunners beat the Swiss powerhouse, his former club, 2-0 in the Champions League.

Xhaka, 24, came through Basel's Concordia academy before moving on from the club in 2012 and now finds himself playing against his boyhood team, who still houses his older brother Taulant who he battled in midfield at the Emirates Stadium.

On his Instagram account, Xhaka posted a photo embarking brother Taulant, with the accompanying message: "What a game.

"What emotions to play against the club I made the first steps with !

"What adrenaline to face your own brother. Unforgettable match. Everything perfect. Thank you everyone!"
