Xavi admits he'd sign Borussia Dortmund whizkid Jadon Sancho if he was Barcelona coach.
Currently in charge of Al Sadd, Xavi turned down the Barca job over the New Year.
Sancho is likely to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all interested but Xavi believes his former side, Barca, should not be left behind in the race for the 20-year-old's signature.
Asked what he would do if he were in charge at Barcelona, he told La Vanguardia: "I would sign wingers. Players like Neymar – I don't know if he would fit because of the social aspect, in a football sense I have no doubts he would be a spectacular signing.
"Barcelona have good players through the middle but they lack wingers like the ones Bayern have. They don't need a lot of new players: Jadon Sancho, Serge Gnabry."
