Xabi Alonso has paid tribute to former Real Madrid teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric.

Xabi felt the pair were outstanding for this week's Champions League win over Juventus.

"It will be very difficult to miss, as the semifinals are already pretty assured, but we have to wait," he said.

"Real Madrid has a group of players that the more important the match is, the better they play.

"Ronaldo finally achieved his bicycle kick and he did it in such a spectacular way.

"Modric is a player who possesses everything: he knows how to associate with the team and is unmovable."
