Former Arsenal forward Ian Wright believes that if Sterling continues to put in the same sort of numbers and continue his red-hot form, there is no doubt he will be classed as a 'world-class' attacker.
"He's on that road, for a start. He's got everything," Wright told ITV, ahead of England's clash with Bulgaria.
"Irrespective of the way he's progressed, he just looks like someone who wants to put numbers up now. He looks like somebody who wants to be in that Ballon d'Or kind of voting.
"That's where he is now. The speed in which he is progressing, you can see that's what he wants to do.
"He's going to need to continue to play like he's playing, get to the levels of the European Champions, World Cups and then produce again because we've seen what the top players are doing.
"Once he does that, he'll get that tag and it will stick, without a shadow of a doubt."
