Middlesbrough are going with an ex-player as their next manager.
Former central defender Jonathan Woodgate is seen as the prime candidate to take the position.
Per Sky Sports News, the 39-year-old has been involved with talks at the Riverside, after having interviewed for the position less than a month ago.
If Woodgate signs the contract to take charge, he will bring Steve Round with him as an assistant.
Leo Percovich is being tapped for the goalkeeping coach position.
Woodgate was part of the backroom staff under Tony Pulis, who was sacked at the end of the season after the club did not qualify for the playoffs.
Round has previously worked with David Moyes at Everton and Manchester United.
