Wolves winger Daniel Podence hopes to face Olympiacos

Wolves winger Daniel Podence hopes to feature in the second-leg of their Europa League tie with Olympiacos.

The Portuguese winger, who came to the national conscience of English football fans after a stunning display for Olympiacos against Tottenham Hotspur in this season's Champions League group stages, spent 18 months of his career in the red and white of the Greek champions before moving to Wolves in January.

Podence said, “Going to a club which received me so well was very good for me because my mind was very relaxed at the time.

“Playing for a club like Olympiacos are, I enjoyed a lot and they did a great job with me.

“It will be very difficult. I wasn't surprised that they played very well in the first game. Some of my colleagues may have been surprised as they played really well and touched the ball with quality, controlling the game – even with one less man for some time.

“I wasn't surprised because I know I used to be in such a good team, that played well against Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Arsenal, as well as the teams in the Greek championship.

“I'm completely aware of the quality of their team, but I also see we can beat them if we think in the right way. We can control the game and show our quality."
