Wolves have warned Newcastle United off star winger Michael Kightly.

A source at the Wolverhampton club told the Evening Chronicle: "Michael's a tremendous prospect and playing regularly, so why sell him?

"The club is ambitious and wants to get back into the Premier League, so selling our best players isn't on the agenda.

"Mick (McCarthy) doesn't need to sell Michael, and he doesn't intend to."
