Wolves have transfer-listed Dion Sanderson.
The Examiner reports Sanderson has been told he can leave Molineux, which should alert a number of clubs including Sheffield United.
The 21-year-old defender has been on loan at League One side Sunderland last season and impressed under Lee Johnson.
The Blades ' recruitment team have had him watched several times.
The defender can play centrally in a back four or on the right of a back three, playing both of those positions during his loan spell at the Stadium of Light.
With Ethan Ampadu returning to Chelsea and Phil Jagielka departing the club following the expiry of his contract, United are in need of defensive cover and competition for John Egan and Chris Basham.
