Wolves have launched a bid for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

The young Frenchman has emerged as one of most sought after prospects in Ligue 1 this season.

Having attracted enquiries from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham in recent weeks, Soumare is now the subject of a concrete offer from Wolves.

RMC Sport reports Wolves have lodged a bid of €40m for the youngster.

Lille president Gerard Lopez is prepared to sell - and is banking on Wolves' offer sparking an auction. Ideally, Lopez would prefer to sell Soumare and take him back on-loan for the remainder of this season.
