Wolves, Sunderland join chase for Leeds striker Beckford

The Premiership race for Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford is heating up.

The Sunday Times says Wolves and Sunderland have joined the chase to sign Beckford, the Leeds United striker who knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup last weekend.

Leeds have rejected a bid of £1.25m from Newcastle and have told their leading scorer he cannot leave until the price improves and they find a replacement.

Leeds have also turned down an offer of £300,000 plus Sam Vokes from Wolves. Sunderland have inquired about Beckford as a replacement for Kenwyne Jones, a, £11.5m target wanted by Birmingham City.
