Wolves striker Diogo Jota happy with brace in Newcastle rout

Wolves striker Diogo Jota was delighted to score in their 4-0 rout of Newcastle United in China.

Jota scored twice for the win.

He told the club's website: “Scoring goals always gives you an extra boost in terms of confidence and you have to take advantage of that and keep working hard to be 100 percent for the first match.

“For the second goal I tried to react fast to the loss of the ball. Fortunately, I scored and it was good for me and the team that we were able to make it 3-0 very soon."

Jota added: “We knew that they were hard conditions, but we tried to do our best because we have an official match next week.

“We have to prepare ourselves and I think we did it well. The goals, of course, helped the team feel confident, to realise that we are working well.

“That was the hardest games, in terms of humidity, I've had. It's hard to play in those conditions, with an intensity to the game, but we have to play whatever the conditions."
