Wolves are stepping up interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The Mirror says Wolves are planning a bid for Palhinha.

Palhinha, 24, is on the radar of the Molineux club after impressing in two Europa League ties earlier this term against Wolves on loan at Braga.

He has made 35 appearances for Braga and was expected to return to Sporting to fight for a first team place this summer.

But Sporting are now willing to cash in on him for around £13million.
