Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves proud of current form

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves was delighted with his performance for Saturday's 4-3 win over Leicester City.

A key element of the win over Leicester was the long-range passing of midfielder Ruben Neves to unlock the visitors. His brilliant pass from near his own box set up Portuguese compatriot Diogo Jota to make it 3-2.

The pair have a close rapport after both joining Wolves in July 2017 after spending the previous season together at Porto too.

Neves was also involved in Jota's winner, sparking another incredible move which sliced the Foxes open once more, enabling Raul Jimenez to cross for the goal.

“It is a part of my job, I always try to do my best," said Neves.

“We have played together for a third year so I know Diogo very well. I know the movements that he wants to do and likes to do. It makes things easier for us. He knows as well how I play and how I see the game, so he expects the balls. I hope he can score more now, everyone wants to score and to help the team."

Jota, who struck 18 times last term, has five goals in five League games despite waiting until December to open his account.

Neves added: “I am really for happy for him. He is an unbelievable player, very talented. He showed this last season as well. He then had an injury but came back and worked hard and he had a massive game."
