Wolves midfielder Dendoncker: It felt like Liverpool had 15,000 fans behind them

Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker says they could notice the Liverpool home support during Sunday's defeat.

Dendoncker says that the 2,000 Liverpool fans inside Anfield sounded like 15,000 as the Reds saw off Nuno Espirito Santo's men 4-0 on Sunday night.

"I think it's a huge difference," he told reporters after the match.

“It felt like there were at least 15,000 people in here when you heard the noise they made. They managed to push their team forward.

“Obviously, it's way better with the fans and I hope that if the situation allows it and if we can all stay healthy then I hope all the stadiums can be full sometime soon."

It wasn't just the fans who made the difference though, as Dendoncker admitted.

Liverpool is just a really strong team and when you go two down, and then you go three down, it's just really hard to come back after that," he continued.

“I don't think we played a bad game and in the first-half we had some crosses and some passes that maybe we could've done better, which we can look at and which we will look and will do.

"Then defensively we have to try and look at ourselves and think about what we can do better in the future."
