Wolves legend Bull backs England return for Tottenham's Crouch

Wolves legend Steve Bull says Tottenham striker Peter Crouch deserves an England recall.

Former England international Bull told the Daily Star Sunday: "You don't need to look any further than the two boys at Tottenham for me. They are made to play together.

"Crouch and Defoe give you everything you need in a forward pairing and, of course, they know each other's games so well because they have played together so much, first at Portsmouth and now at Spurs.

"You can see their qualities individually - but for me it's when they play together that you get the complete package.

"Crouch can score goals and also offers that foil you need and Defoe is very much the real deal in front of goal.

"He shoots on sight and needs hardly any back lift and has a thunderous shot, which he has been putting to good use in the start of the campaign for Tottenham.

And I bet even Harry Redknapp will be surprised at just how well he is playing.

"Defoe has obviously been in the gym and looks a much stronger player this season. With that strength comes goals and with goals comes confidence, so I wouldn't hesitate in making them my top two up front for England."
