Wolves in talks to sign Espanyol striker Wu Lei

Wolves are in talks to sign Espanyol striker Wu Lei.

Marca says Wu Lei is negotiating a potential move to the Premier League side.

The Chinese Player of the Year has a contract with Espanyol until December 31, 2020, and his intention was to remain at the club, regardless of whether Los Periquitos manage to remain in LaLiga Santander or if they are relegated to LaLiga SmartBank.

Wu Lei's priority is to give his all in the remainder of this campaign so that Espanyol can remain in the Spanish top flight, with the Catalan side currently six points from safety with 11 matches to go in LaLiga Santander.

Espanyol paid two million euros to buy Wu Lei from Shanghai SIPG in January 2019 and his arrival has allowed the club to grow substantially in China, while LaLiga have also benefited from this growth in the Asian market.
