Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio not joining Portugal squad

Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio will not link up with the Portugal national team this week.

The 33-year-old has responded positively after suffering a head injury in the loss to Liverpool last Monday.

But the Wolves medical department says Patricio is not fit for travel and he will not play for Portugal.

A statement from the Portuguese national team read: "Rui Patrício was declared unfit by the FPF Health and Performance Unit.

"The player has not recovered satisfactorily from the trauma suffered at the service of Wolverhampton FC and will continue his recovery process in England."
