Wolves fullback Nelson Semedo: I should've done more at Barcelona

Wolves fullback Nelson Semedo admits he didn't do himself justice at Barcelona.

The 26-year-old was signed from Benfica in 2017 with the hope of becoming the successor to Dani Alves, however he regularly found himself battling with Sergi Roberto for a spot in the starting line-up.

"I think I could have played more, but at Barcelona the level is very high and all the players are very good," Semedo said in an interview with DAZN.

"I didn't reach the level I wanted.

"I had to adapt to a totally different game to the one I'm used to.

"It's a rather complicated style of play, but I was finally able to adapt to it."

However, when looking back at his time in Barcelona as a whole, Semedo believes it was a positive experience overall.

"In Barcelona I enjoyed myself quite a lot, I made some good friendships that I'm going to take with me for the rest of my life," Semedo noted.

"The balance of my time there is positive.

"I won four trophies and played almost 150 games in three years, which is very difficult at Barcelona."
