Wolves defender Matt Doherty is delighted that he is a part of the Nuno Espirito Santo revolution at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Doherty is one of the few players who is there from the pre-Portuguese days at the club.
He first signed for Wolves in 2010 and has maintained his stable presence in the squad. And it is a feat he does not take for granted.
"Yes it is massively a source of pride for me (that I have remained at the forefront)," said Doherty to the Express and Star.
"A lot of managers, obviously new owners, they could have just wiped me out and said 'We are going to go for something new'.
"But I have just got my head down and done well, played well when I needed to, and I am still here. A lot has happened since the manager took over, which is only just over a year ago.
"He has done an unbelievable job to get us where we are today. A lot of credit goes to him. And (as a player you have to) just go with the flow and keeping doing your bit to make sure you stay here. (You are always) trying to keep your place, you want to be part of it."
