Wolves expect windfall from Everton's Lescott sale

Wolves expect a windfall should Manchester City close a deal for Everton defender Joleon Lescott.

The Express & Star says the club negotiated a sell-on clause of at least 10 per cent when Lescott left Molineux in 2006 for £5m. That means Wolves will pocket a slice of the profit Everton made on the initial transfer.

But it is understood the Toffees are now seeking as much as £28million before reconsidering their stance not to sell - a figure which would trigger a £2.3million windfall to Wolves.
