Wolves enter Le Mans 24 hour virtual race

Wolves have agreed a new partnership with Gulf Racing for the 24 hours of Le Mans Virtual race, reports www.fcbusiness.co.uk

The unique collaboration sees Wolves step into the racing world for the first time, with Gulf Racing's Porsche 911 RSR GTE car kitted out in old gold and black Wolves branding.

Organised by the ACO, FIA WEC and Motorsport Games, the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual will open a new era in sim racing. For the first time, teams made up of a combination of professional racing drivers and eSports champions will challenge each other in the virtual world, with the race broadcast live on television and online across the globe.

The driver line-up and car livery for the GR Wolves Racing team will be unveiled on Wolves' social media channels over the next week.

Russell Jones, Wolverhampton Wanderers' general manager for marketing and commercial growth, said: "This is a great opportunity for Wolves to enter the world of motor sports and extend our eSports portfolio.

"This partnership provides us with an opportunity to reach a brand-new audience and align the Wolves brand with one of the most iconic motor competitions in the world.

"We can't wait to join forces with Gulf Racing and look forward to a fiercely competitive weekend."
