Matt Doherty believes Wolves deserve their position of seventh on the Premier League table.

Wolves played out a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Monday, with a late Willy Boly goal giving Nuno Espirito Santo's side a point.

Toon midfielder Isaac Hayden questioned Wolves' position after the result, but Doherty has hit back.

The Irishman said to reporters: "The table doesn't lie.

"We're there for a reason and I think we deserve to be there – we play some nice stuff and have been getting some good results, and when it's like that you can't wait for the next league game."
