Wolves coach Gallen: QPR players couldn't get near Dominic Iorfa

Wolves assistant head coach Joe Gallen is convinced by the quality of defender Dominic Iorfa.

The 19-year-old defender was named Football League Young Player of the Month for February.

"We played a behind-closed doors game at QPR earlier in the season, and they had a first team playing," said Gallen to the Express & Star.

"Junior Hoillett played on the left and the Korean player Yun Suk-Young at left-back and they couldn't stop Dominic.

"And these guys were trying their best. Shaun Wright-Phillips, Sandro and Matt Phillips played but Dominic was just unstoppable.

"Matt Doherty is very good and it's good to have healthy competition. But I remember saying to Ken (head coach Kenny Jackett), 'he's ready to play' and it's proved that way.

"So for him to get the young player award, I was quite pleased because I was thinking back then he could really play."
