Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is moving for Standard Liege's Oguchi Onyewu.
The 6ft 4in United States centre-half is a free agent and fits McCarthy's bill for tall and uncompromising players as he prepares for Premier League survival.
Onyewu, 27, was yesterday absent from Belgium, as he went to meet an English club.
