Wolves chief Scott Sellars has explained sending Fabio Silva on-loan to Anderlecht.
The Portugal U21 striker penned a new deal with Wolves before his season-long deal was rubberstamped today.
Sellars said: "Bruno Lage and I discussed a lot, also with Fábio [Silva], about what we feel is the best for his development, and we feel that a season playing regularly would be very good for him at this point in his career.
"He's only 20 today, so he's still a young boy and he needs a regular season in senior football, in a competitive league, to be able to come back stronger at Wolverhampton. We've seen it with Morgan [Gibbs-White]'s performances last year how much a loan can have a positive impact on a young player, so we believe that Fábio Silva following the same path is the right step in his development.
"Fábio understands what we are trying to do, and this new contract and loan show that we are working together to help him develop into the best player he can be."
