Wolves and West Bromwich Albion are battling for Preston North End goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.
The Mirror says Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is ready to take on neighbours West Brom in a £1.2million fight over Preston keeper Lonergan.
McCarthy wants to sign Lonergan this summer to provide Wayne Hennessey with competition once Marcus Hahnemann leave the club.
Lonergan, 27, is also wanted by Albion however, and McCarthy is preparing an offer for the highly-rated North End star.
Hahnemann will depart Molineux on a free transfer and Wolves are set to test League One-bound Preston with a firm offer.
